Your Committee on Economic Development and Technology, to which was referred S.C.R. No. 48 entitled:

"SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE FORMATION OF A TASK FORCE TO DEVELOP AN UP-TO-DATE MASTER PLAN OF THE HONOLULU WATERFRONT TO STIMULATE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE AREA,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to create a task force to develop an up-to-date plan of the Honolulu waterfront from Aloha Tower to Kakaako to stimulate Hawaii's economy.

Your Committee received testimony in favor of this measure from the Department of Transportation and Hawaii Community Development Authority. Your Committee received comments on this measure from the Aloha Tower Development Corporation.

Your Committee finds that the proposed task force will efficiently and effectively update and align any plans for the Honolulu waterfront.

Your Committee has amended this measure by opening the task force up to all related government, community, and private industry or trade agencies for the benefit of the task force to include every affected interest.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Economic Development and Technology that is attached to this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of S.C.R. No. 48, as amended herein, and recommends that it be referred to the Committee on Transportation, Military Affairs and Government Operations, in the form attached hereto as S.C.R. No. 48, S.D. 1.
