STAND. COM. REP. NO. 703
Honolulu, Hawaii
, 2001
RE: S.B. No. 1168
Honorable Robert Bunda
President of the Senate
Twenty-First State Legislature
Regular Session of 2001
State of Hawaii
Sir:
Your Committee on Judiciary, to which was referred S.B. No. 1168 entitled:
"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO THE BUREAU OF CONVEYANCES,"
begs leave to report as follows:
The purpose of this measure is to amend the law relating to the bureau of conveyances to clarify language and to conform to other laws and provisions.
Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
Your Committee finds that in addition to clarifying requirements of the conveyance procedure, the measure also provides some flexibility in recordation requirements. Your Committee believes that the measure will assist both the registrar and the public, while preserving the necessary accuracy of land documents.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Judiciary that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of S.B. No. 1168 and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
Respectfully submitted on behalf of the members of the Committee on Judiciary,
