Your Committee on Labor, to which was referred S.B. No. 1035 entitled:

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to fund collective bargaining cost items for Unit 10 and its excluded counterparts, including the cost of salary adjustments negotiated between the State and the bargaining unit representative for Fiscal Biennium 2001-2003.

Testimony in support of the measure was received from the Department of Human Resources Development and the United Public Workers.

Your Committee believes that this measure should remain available for action throughout the legislative process as negotiations between the State and exclusive bargaining representative continue.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Labor that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of S.B. No. 1035 and recommends that it pass Second Reading and be referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.
