STAND. COM. REP. NO.1704
Honolulu, Hawaii
, 2001
RE: H.C.R. No. 95
H.D. 1
Honorable Robert Bunda
President of the Senate
Twenty-First State Legislature
Regular Session of 2001
State of Hawaii
Sir:
Your Committee on Water, Land, Energy and Environment, to which was referred H.C.R. No. 95, H.D. 1, entitled:
"HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE FUTURE PRESERVATION OF MAHA'ULEPU,"
begs leave to report as follows:
The purpose of this measure is to secure legislative support of a collaborative planning effort to explore options that would make it possible to preserve the irreplaceable natural and cultural resources of Maha'ulepu.
Your Committee finds that the community-based planning effort envisioned by this Concurrent Resolution will draw upon county and state agencies, the landowner, residents of the region, and professional expertise in guiding the long-term uses and protective actions for preservation of Maha'ulepu.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Water, Land, Energy and Environment that is attached to this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of H.C.R. No. 95, H.D. 1, and recommends its adoption.
Respectfully submitted on behalf of the members of the Committee on Water, Land, Energy and Environment,
