STAND. COM. REP. NO. 1710
Honolulu, Hawaii
, 2001
RE: H.C.R. No. 91
Honorable Robert Bunda
President of the Senate
Twenty-First State Legislature
Regular Session of 2001
State of Hawaii
Sir:
Your Committee on Education, to which was referred H.C.R. No. 91 entitled:
"HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION REQUESTING A MANAGEMENT AND FINANCIAL AUDIT OF THE COMPREHENSIVE STUDENT SUPPORT SYSTEM OF THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION,"
begs leave to report as follows:
The purpose of this measure is to request a management and financial audit of the comprehensive student support system of the Department of Education.
Your Committee heard testimony in support of the measure from Palolo Elementary School, and in opposition from the Department of Education.
Your Committee finds that the comprehensive student support system was developed to provide an array of services to all students in the Department of Education, including the Felix class students. An audit will help ensure that help and services are being provided to the students at various levels in a productive and cost effective fashion.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Education that is attached to this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of H.C.R. No. 91 and recommends its adoption.
Respectfully submitted on behalf of the members of the Committee on Education,
