Your Committee on Health and Human Services, to which was referred H.B. No. 282, H.D. 2, entitled:

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO THE STATE COUNCIL ON DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to make various amendments and name changes to the developmental disabilities law to comply with the recent federal amendments.

Testimony in support of this measure was submitted by the Department of Health, State Planning Council on Developmental Disabilities, and the Disability and Communication Access Board.

Your Committee understands that this is a housekeeping measure, which places state statute in compliance with changes in the federal developmental disabilities law to clarify the Developmental Disabilities Council.

Your Committee has amended this measure by making technical nonsubstantive amendments.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Health and Human Services that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 282, H.D. 2, as amended herein, and recommends that it pass Second Reading in the form attached hereto as H.B. No. 282, H.D. 2, S.D. 1, and be referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.
