Your Committees on Tourism and Culture and Economic Development and Business Concerns, to which was referred H.B. No. 1497 entitled:
"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO MAJOR COMMERCIAL PUBLIC EVENTS,"
beg leave to report as follows:
The purpose of this bill is to require promoters to provide the chief of police advance notice of major commercial events so that provision may be made for the safety of the general public and the surrounding community.
The Honolulu Police Department testified in support of this bill. The Stadium Authority provided comments on this bill.
As affirmed by the records of votes of the members of your Committees on Tourism and Culture and Economic Development and Business Concerns that are attached to this report, your
Committees are in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No.
1497 and recommend that it pass Second Reading and be referred to the Committee on Judiciary and Hawaiian Affairs.
