EXPRESSING DEEPEST APPRECIATION TO THE MEMBERS OF THE VARIOUS MEDIA FOR THEIR COVERAGE OF THE ACTIVITIES OF THE TWENTY-FIRSt LEGISLATURE, REGULAR SESSION OF 2001.
WHEREAS, throughout the Regular Session of 2001 the members of the various media have devoted long hours conscientiously gathering and publishing or broadcasting the activities of the Senate and the measures it has considered; and
WHEREAS, the members of the various media, devoted to the ideal of a free press as an integral part of our democracy, have ably and objectively performed their duty of keeping the public informed throughout the legislative session; and
WHEREAS, throughout the legislative session these media representatives have impressed the members of this body with their professionalism and dedication; and
WHEREAS, the members of this body are cognizant of, and benefit from, the line of communication which the press forms between the members of the Senate and their constituents; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Twenty-first Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2001, that it expresses its deepest appreciation to the members of the various media for their coverage of the activities of the Twenty-first Legislature, Regular Session of 2001; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the members of the various media
covering the activities of the Twenty-first Legislature, Regular Session of 2001.
