Daily Opening Invocation

WHEREAS, each day of the Senate, Regular Session of 2001, commenced with an inspirational invocation; and

WHEREAS, through the invocations, the members of this body were drawn together as one in prayer and in recognition of the responsibility of this body as a whole to serve the public good; and

WHEREAS, the members of this body were further benefitted by the earnest advice and encouragement in the invocations and were inspired by the supplication that each member view with wisdom and greater understanding the nature, worth, quality, and significance of the issues and questions which were brought before the body; and

WHEREAS, the members of the Senate are grateful for the efforts devoted by each individual in preparing the thought-provoking messages and for the time each sacrificed to travel to, and appear before, the Senate to deliver the invocation; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Twenty-first Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2001, that the members of this body extend their deepest appreciation to each of the individuals for their sacrifice in time and efforts to bring to the Senate their messages of wisdom and inspiration during the past sixty days; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Clerk of the Senate is requested to prepare an appropriate congratulatory resolution for each individual who delivered the invocation for the Senate during the Regular Session of 2001, and is authorized to transmit these resolutions to the respective individuals; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the Chief Clerk of the Senate.
