A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to general excise taxation.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 237, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§237- Exemptions of sales and gross proceeds of sales to county government. All sales and gross proceeds of sales to each of the four county governments shall be exempted from and excluded from the measure of the taxes imposed by this chapter."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
