A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to community based economic development.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The purpose of this Act is to increase allocation of funds to community based economic development so that more programs can be embraced by what community based economic development is all about. Community based economic development is implemented statewide and therefore serves to reach every corner of our community.
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2001-2002, so that more programs can be embraced by the community based economic development loan and grant program.
SECTION 3. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of business, economic development, and tourism through the community based development loan and grant program for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
