A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE TWENTY-FOURTH SENATE DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2001-2002.
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Enchanted Lake Elementary School, Oahu
Electrical upgrade to elementary school.
Planning, design and installation: 200,000
Total funding: 200,000
B. Ka'elepulu Elementary School, Oahu
Construction of a library/administration building.
Design and construction 1,000,000
Total funding 1,000,000
C. Keolu Elementary School, Oahu
Reroof covered walkway to A and D buildings and electrical upgrade of school.
Reroof 150,000
Electrical upgrade installation 75,000
Total funding 225,000
D. Maunawili Elementary School, Oahu
Construction of sidewalk and parking stalls, electrical upgrade, and lighting.
Construction of sidewalk from library to cafeteria

Electrical upgrade installation to support new technology in classrooms 200,000

2. To be expended by the department of transportation:

Design and construction funding shall not come from the department of education or the department of public safety.
B. Kahikili Highway, Oahu
Beautification of Kahikili Highway 2,500,000
Total funding 2,500,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agencies for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
