A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO THE QUEST PROGRAM.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Beginning on July 1, 2001, the department of human services shall reimburse all hospitals and physicians and providing service to QUEST and Medicaid patients, up to seventy-five per cent of the usual, customary, and reasonable fees charged for services provided to Medicaid patients.
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2001-2002, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2002-2003, to fund the reimbursement increase for services provided to QUEST and medicaid patients required under section 1.
The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of human services.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
