A BILL FOR AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE twenty-second SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $8,674,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2001-2002, for the following capital improvements in the twenty-second senatorial district:
1. Helemano Elementary School, Oahu
Design, construction, and equipment for a new library; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

Total funding $2,485,000
2. Iliahi Elementary School, Oahu
Construction and equipment for air conditioning for the library; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.
Construction $320,000

3. Waialua Elementary School, Oahu
Design and construction for the renovation/expansion of the administration building to include space for the PCNC and other school programs; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

4. Sunset Beach Elementary School, Oahu
Design and construction of new administration building; renovation of existing temporary facilities to classrooms; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

5. Kamehameha Highway, Oahu
Land acquisition, design, and construction to extend a five-foot sidewalk with a four-foot shoulder from the Waimea Bay Emergency Repair project to the existing path near Pupukea Beach Park.

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for capital improvement projects authorized in this Act which are unexpended and unencumbered as of June 30, 2004, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated in items 1 to 4 in section 1 of this Act shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services and the sum appropriated in item 5 shall be expended by the department of transportation for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
