A BILL FOR AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE eighteenth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $ , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2001-2002, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2001-2002, is appropriated for the following capital improvements in the eighteenth senatorial district:
1. Kamehameha Highway, Oahu
A. Planning and design for lights on highway from Lanikuhana Avenue through Kipapa Gulch to Waipio Gentry $
B. Road improvements in the vicinity of Kipapa Gulch $
2. Mililani Public Library, Oahu
Planning and design for expansion of parking lot $250,000
3. Mililani Mauka II Elementary School, Oahu
Two-story, six-classroom building
Planning and design $200,000
Construction $2,000,000
Total Funding $2,200,000
4. Kanoelani Elementary School, Oahu
Planning and design to add a second door to twenty-two classrooms $
TOTAL FUNDING $
SECTION 2. The appropriations made for capital improvement projects authorized in this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all appropriations that are unencumbered as of June 30, 2004, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated shall be expended for the purposes of this Act; provided that:
(1) The sum appropriated in item 1 of this Act shall be expended by the department of transportation; and
(2) The sums appropriated in items 2, 3, and 4 of this Act shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
