A BILL FOR AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE thirteenth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $4,917,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for fiscal year 2001-2002, for the following capital improvements in the thirteenth senatorial district:
1. Stevenson Middle School, Oahu
Security & liability retrofitting, including installation of metal gates, screen tiles, and railings for building A.

2. Nuuanu Elementary School, Oahu
A. Landscape hilly and sloping areas and include adequate drainage and repavement of blacktop to provide a safe and level play and walk area.

B. Installation of security screens for buildings G1, I, H, F, and B to provide security to school equipment and supplies.

A. Renovate the interior of the thirty-five year old music building that houses the band and orchestra programs.

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for capital improvement projects authorized in this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all appropriations which are encumbered as of
June 30, 2003, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
