A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO AUTHORITY OF FOSTER PARENTS TO PROVIDE CONSENTS FOR THE FOSTER CHILD'S EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL NEEDS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 587, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§587- Educational and recreational needs. Upon the first day of placement, foster parents may provide consents for the routine educational and recreational activities of the foster children placed in their care, except for purposes regulated under title 8, chapters 53 and 56, of the Hawaii administrative rules."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
