HOUSE RESOLUTION

 

CONGRATULATING THE 2001 NARCISSUS FESTIVAL QUEEN YING YING LEE AND THE MEMBERS OF HER COURT: FIRST PRINCESS BRANDI JIM ON; SECOND PRINCESS MICHELLE LOO; THIRD PRINCESS RACYNE YOUNG; AND FOURTH PRINCESS MELODEE YOUNG.

 

WHEREAS, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii began its annual Narcissus Festival fifty-two years ago to preserve the Chinese culture in the Chinese community; and

WHEREAS, like the narcissus flower, a pure blossom of white that emerges from the cold of winter heralding the beauty and promise of spring, the Narcissus Festival celebrates the beauty and strength of the Chinese culture, culminating in the selection of the Narcissus Festival Queen and her court to serve as goodwill ambassadors on behalf of the Chinese community and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii during their one-year reign in this Year of the Snake; and

WHEREAS, endowed with intelligence, charm, and radiance, the following individuals were selected to the Narcissus Court: Queen Ying Ying Lee; First Princess Brandi Jim On; Second Princess Michelle Lo; Third Princess Racyne Young; and Fourth Princess Melodee Young, all of whom are honored and recognized for their superb abilities and achievements; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-first Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2001, that this body hereby congratulates Queen Ying Ying Lee, First Princess Brandi Jim On, Second Princess Michelle Loo, Third Princess Racyne Young, and Fourth Princess Melodee Young for being selected to the 2001 Narcissus Festival Court, and extends to them its heartfelt aloha and best wishes for success in all future endeavors.
