HOUSE CONCURRENT

RESOLUTION

 

commending house technical support services and senate data systems for their OUTSTANDING COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS IN developing the "eclipse" LEGISLATIVE computer system.

 

WHEREAS, a collaborative team of technical professionals from the House and Senate accomplished what seemed to be an insurmountable task in five short months; and

WHEREAS, the members of this exceptional team consisted of members of House Technical Support Services and Senate Data Systems; and

WHEREAS, the following represent the House team: Gail Iseri, Division Manager; Josette Akamine, Helpline and Training; Kelly Overstreet, Programmer; Craig Nakahara, Hardware Support and Inventory; David Kam, Hardware Support and Inventory; and Brent Miyagi, Hardware Support and Inventory; and

WHEREAS, the following represent the Senate team: Jon Shimabuku, Division Manager; Darryl Woo, Hardware Support and Programmer; Lisa Kimura, Helpline and Training; Jean Cox, Webmaster; and Mark Morimoto, Programmer; and

WHEREAS, this dream team of innovative and energetic workers raced against the clock to develop a totally new integrated computer system for the Legislature, known as the "Eclipse" Legislative Computer System; and

WHEREAS, the flexibility and ease of use of this new system eclipses the previous "SHADOW" Legislative Computer System, enabling legislative staff to efficiently accomplish their work and providing bill status and other information to the public on a "real time" basis; and

WHEREAS, not only were they responsible for developing "Eclipse," but this collaborative team was also responsible for training computer users in both the House of Representatives and the Senate; moreover, they continue to devote a substantial amount of time to making additional system enhancements to accommodate the needs of "Eclipse" users; and

WHEREAS, the notable commitment, doggedness, and professional talents of House Technical Support Services and Senate Data Systems in developing a computer information system is worthy of recognition; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-first Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2001, the Senate concurring, that the Legislature commends House Technical Support Services and Senate Data Systems for their outstanding collaborative efforts in developing the "Eclipse" Legislative Computer System.
