Report Title:
State capitol; beautification and user-friendliness
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES |
H.C.R. NO. |
191 |
TWENTY-FIRST LEGISLATURE, 2001 |
||
STATE OF HAWAII |
||
RESOLUTION
requesting the legislature to make the capitol more user-friendly and beautiful.
WHEREAS, the legislature finds that the Capitol building should be more user-friendly for both those who visit and the employees who work in the building; and
WHEREAS, having such amenities as ATM machines and stamp machines located in the building will help make the Capitol more user-friendly; and
WHEREAS, in addition to making the capitol more user-friendly, the legislature finds that the Capitol should be beautified, and should highlight Hawaii's indigenous floral beauty; and
WHEREAS, the pond surrounding the Capitol is unsightly and unreasonably expensive to upkeep because it constantly leaks and algae growth has to be removed on a regular basis; and
WHEREAS, remodeling and relandscaping the Capitol by removing the pond and replacing it with tables and seating for the general public and employees, using indigenous plants to relandscape the Capitol grounds, and installing a food court in the Capitol's chamber level would make the Capitol a more user-friendly, pleasant and beautiful place to visit and work; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-first Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2001, the Senate concurring, that the Legislature is requested to make the Capitol more user–friendly and beautiful implementing the aforementioned recommendations; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Concurrent Resolution be transmitted to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate.
