A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to motorcycles.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 291, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§291- Motorcycles; passenger restrictions. (a) No person under the age of twelve shall be a passenger on a motorcycle unless an emergency exists that threatens the life of the passenger being transported.
(b) Any person who violates this section shall be subject to a fine of $25 for each violation.
(c) As used in this section "motorcycle" shall have the same meaning as in section 291C-1."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
