Authorizes the issuance of, and appropriate, $1 in general obligation bonds for each of the fiscal years 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 to support the relocation of the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum Science Learning Center. (HB557 HD2)

A BILL FOR AN ACT

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $1 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2001-2002 and the sum of $1 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2002-2003, and the same sums or so much thereof as may be necessary are appropriated for fiscal years 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 respectively, for the following project for the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, which is designated the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum Science Learning Center.

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for capital improvement projects authorized in this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriations are made; provided that all appropriations which are unencumbered as of June 30, 2004, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 3. The sums appropriated shall be expended by the Hawaii community development authority for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
