A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO TORT LIABILITY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 520-2, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending the definition of "Land" to read as follows:
""Land" means land, roads, water, water courses, private ways and buildings, structures, and machinery or equipment when attached to realty, other than lands owned by the government[.]
or open to the public for commercial purposes; provided that if the owner holds only part of a parcel of land open to the public for commercial purposes the remainder of the parcel shall not be considered to be held open to the public for commercial purposes."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
