Expands the definition of "land" under chapter 520, relating to landowners' liability to include land that is open to the public for commercial purposes.

A BILL FOR AN ACT

SECTION 1. Section 520-2, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending the definition of "Land" to read as follows:

""Land" means land, roads, water, water courses, private ways and buildings, structures, and machinery or equipment when attached to realty, other than lands owned by the government[.] or open to the public for commercial purposes."

SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
