A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FORTY-SIXTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2001-2002.
1. To be expended by the department of transportation:
A. To create a left turn lane at the intersection of Kamehameha Highway and Waihee Road, Oahu.

B. Design and construction of a new bridge over Kaalaea Stream at Kamehameha Highway, Oahu.

C. Beautification and landscaping improvement, Kahekili Highway from Likelike Highway to Haiku Road, Oahu.
Construction $2,400,000

D. Create a right turn lane at East Hui Iwa and Kahekili Highway, and add extra lane on Kahekili Highway from West Hui Iwa to East Hui Iwa, Oahu.

E. S296 - Kamehameha Highway, Kaipapau Stream Bridge Replacement, Oahu.

G. S299 – Kamehameha Highway, North Kahana Steam Bridge Replacement, Oahu.

J. SP9805 – Kamehameha Highway, Kahekili Highway, intersection improvements, Oahu. Construct a traffic circle at the intersection of Kamehameha Highway and Kahekili Highway.

2. To be expended by the department of land and natural resources:
A. Heeia State Park, Oahu. Extensive renovations and improvements to main roof, structural beams, and lanai roof of main hall building leased to the Friends of Heeia State Park to correct for long term termite damage. Provide termite treatment of structure.

B. F57 - Kahana Valley State Park, Oahu. Design and construction of sewage system improvements for three comfort stations and park orientation building.

3. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:

1. Create additional parking lot behind cafeteria with entrance from Ahilama St.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
