A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FORTY-THIRD REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2001-2002.

1. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:

A. Boys and girls club, Nanakuli, Oahu

Plans and construction to install a water line.

Plans $ 8,000

Construction 75,000

Total funding 83,000

B. Boys and girls club, Waianae, Oahu

Construction to upgrade the lighting system, install new flooring, and other improvements.

Construction 68,000

Total funding 68,000

C. Nanakuli high school, Oahu

Design and construction to upgrade the electrical system.

Design 15,000

Construction 300,000

Total funding 315,000

D. Nanakuli elementary school, Oahu

Construction and equipment for improvements.

Construction 1,750,000

Equipment 750,000

Total funding 2,500,000

E. Waianae coast comprehensive health center, Oahu

Design and construction for clinical space renovation related to the air conditioning replacement construction project.

Design 67,000

Construction 318,000

Total funding 385,000

F. Waianae coast comprehensive health center native Hawaiian healing center, Oahu

Construction of a five thousand two hundred square foot dining pavilion for use as a commercial kitchen, classroom, and conference room.

Construction 180,000

Total funding 180,000

2. To be expended by the department of transportation:

A. Waianae coast emergency alternate route, Oahu

Design to provide an alternate route to alleviate and address traffic congestion problems during natural disasters and other emergencies.

Design 375,000

Total funding 375,000

B. Resurfacing of Kalaeloa boulevard from Farrington highway.

Design to resurface approximately 7,000 feet of roadway at the entry to James Campbell industrial park.

Design 300,000

Total funding 300,000

3. To be expended by the city and county of Honolulu:

A. Pililaau park, Oahu

Design and construction for a statue of Herbert Pililaau, Hawaii's first Medal of Honor recipient.

Design 5,000

Construction 50,000

Total funding 55,000

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
