A BILL FOR AN ACT
authorizing the issuance of general obligation bonds and making an appropriation for capital improvement projects for the tenth representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $ , or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal years 2001-2002, and 2002-2003, for the following projects in the tenth representative district.
1. Kula elementary school
Repairs for baseball backstop $ 15,000
Renovation of four bathrooms to provide handicapped access 160,00
Total funding $ 175,000
2. Samuel Enoka Kalama intermediate school
Design, construction, and equipment for playcourt.
Design $ 1,000
Construction 975,000
Equipment 24,000
Total funding $ 1,000,000
3. Paia elementary school
Construction for cable access wiring.
Construction $ 20,000
Total funding $ 20,000
4. King Kekaulike high school
Design and construction for six classroom building.
Design $ 300,000
Construction 3,200,000
Total funding $ 3,500,000
5. Pukalani elementary school
Repairs and renovations.
Install larger sink $ 2,000
Paint exterior of building D 40,000
Paint interior of building D 40,000
Total funding $ 82,000
6. Punanaleo o Maui Hawaiian language school
Construction $ 500,000
Total funding $ 500,000
SECTION 2. The appropriation made for capital improvement projects authorized in the Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all appropriations which are unencumbered as of June 30, 2003, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
