A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE TWENTY-FIFTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2001-2002.

1. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:

A. McKinley high school, Oahu

Replace the antiquated plumbing/irrigation system.

Design $ 50,000

Construction 730,000

Total funding $780,000

B. McKinley high school, Oahu

Retrofit the school's electrical system to increase power needs to accommodate modern technological advances.

Design $ 60,000

Construction 900,000

Total funding $960,000

C. McKinley high school, Oahu

Upgrade the girls’ physical education/sports facilities to provide gender equity.

Planning and design $ 150,000

Construction 2,000,000

Total funding $2,150,000

D. McKinley high school, Oahu

Repairs and maintenance to renovate building Q — boys’ physical education facilities; repair building K - industrial arts facility; physical education facilities and repair gymnasium.

Total funding $900,000

E. McKinley high school, Oahu

Paint exterior of entire school; paint interior classrooms, hallways, and cafetorium.

Total funding $950,000

F. McKinley high school, Oahu

Increase lighting, campus, and physical plant.

Total funding $750,000

G. McKinley high school, Oahu

Relocate public address system wiring.

Total funding $90,000

H. Ka`ahumanu elementary school, Oahu

Air condition building G, now in planning stage.

Materials and installation $1,100,000

Total funding $1,100,000

I. Ka`ahumanu elementary school, Oahu

Build covered walkway to connect buildings C and F.

Construction $80,000

Total funding $80,000

J. Ka`ahumanu elementary school, Oahu

Lay sidewalk from portable classrooms to building G.

Construction $40,000

Total funding $40,000

K. Royal elementary school, Oahu

Electrical upgrade.

Design $ 20,000

Installation $200,000

Total funding $220,000

L. Central middle school, Oahu

Implement the facilities building program, building A.

Design $ 250,000

Construction 5,300,000

Equipment 900,000

Total funding $6,450,000

M. Central middle school, Oahu

Replace cafeteria, classrooms, auditorium, library.

Design $ 1,000,000

Construction 9,000,000

Equipment 1,000,000

Total Funding $11,000,000

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
