Report Title: Information-based Industries

Description: Mandates integration of tourism marketing plans with existing and potential information and communication technology networks and services. Creates a technology training or job creation tax credit. Establishes Hawaii Internet Exchange (HIE) in OTTED and includes the development of an internet exchange in state economic priority guidelines. Includes in state planning priority guidelines for education, an increase in the availability of telecommunication equipment for the exchange of information and internet access. Establishes an accelerated information technology education and training program within the UH. Authorizes GO bonds to establish fiber optic connection to internet for UH and DOE.
