         Requires written order with reasons for decision
         in awarding custody to person against whom there
         is evidence of family violence.

2069     RELATING TO PROBATION                               JHA
         Authorizes probation officers to notify domestic
         violence victims, immediate family, their
         parents, or a victim advocate,when the defendant
         violates probation and when probation officers
         have information relating to victim's safety and

2088     RELATING TO SHORT-TERM INVESTMENT OF STATE MONEYS   FIN
         Adds to the list of permissible investments of
         excess state moneys.

2120     RELATING TO ACT 316, SESSION LAWS OF HAWAII 1993,
         AS AMENDED BY ACT 157, SESSION LAWS OF HAWAII
         1995; AND TO ACT 278, SESSION LAWS OF HAWAII 1999   JHA
         Adds reenactment language to laws that were
         amended, and will be inadvertently repealed, by
         laws establishing the expedited sentencing
         program and amending the crime victim
         compensation special fund.  (SB2120 SD1)

2121     RELATING TO OBSOLETE LAWS                           EDB
         Repeals or makes conforming amendments to various
         statutes that have either been repealed by
         implication, or by their own terms by operation
         of law, and are now deemed to be "functus", that
         is, have accomplished their intended purpose and
         are of no further force or effect.  (SB2121 SD1)

2153     RELATING TO ABUSE OF FAMILY OR HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS    JHA
         Creates 3 classifications of offense of abuse of
         family or  person to leave the premises for
         Bhousehold member:  class C felony, misdemeanor,
         and petty misdemeanor. (SD1)

2154     RELATING TO PROTECTIVE ORDERS                       JHA
         Includes "dating relationship" within domestic
         abuse protective nor more than orders.  Provides
         for extended protective orders for 10-year
         period.  Makes penalties for violation of
         protective orders consistent with those for
         violation of temporary restraining orders.
         Requires full faith and credit be given to
         foreign protective orders. (SD1) 

2160     RELATING TO GENERAL EXCISE TAX                      EDB,FIN
         Amends definition of gross income to allow
         taxpayers to deal on a cash basis.  (SD1)

2201     RELATING TO PUBLIC SERVICE                          LMG,JHA
         Defines and requires "eligible public officers"
         to testify.

2293     RELATING TO INSURANCE                               CPC
         Deems a request for approval granted if the
         insurance commissioner takes no action on the
         request within thirty days. Eliminates the public
         hearing requirement for workers' compensation
         rate filings.

2308     RELATING TO TAXATION                                FIN
         Authorizes the reimbursement of general excise
         tax (GET) amounts to counties for GET passed on
         to the counties.  (SD2)

2354     RELATING TO PUBLIC ACCESS                           LMG,FIN
         Appropriates funds so that legislative sessions
         can be broadcast in streaming media format via
         the Internet, adds a full time position to the
         public access room, establishes a childcare pilot
         program, and transfers the responsibility for the
         sale and distribution of statutory revision from
         the Lt. Governor to the legislature.  (SB2354
         SD1)

2512     RELATING TO THE INCOME TAXATION                     EDB,FIN
         Increases income tax deductions for businesses
         from 50% to 100% for meals and entertainment
         expenses.  Allows business entertainment
         deduction for club dues.

2535     RELATING TO PROBATE                                 JHA
         Probate letters; makes housekeeping amendment.

2629     RELATING TO DRUGS                                   JHA
         Repeals provisions that allow a conditional
         discharge and expunging of court records in a
         case where a person does not have a previous drug
         conviction.

2631     RELATING TO OFFENSES AGAINST PROPERTY RIGHTS        JHA
         Permits use of photocopies of price or name tag
         of goods or printed register receipts as prima
         facie evidence of value and ownership of goods
         and merchandise.  Includes legal owner in
         definition of "owner" of propelled vehicle.

2639     RELATING TO BURGLARY                                JHA
         Provides that a person may commit burglary even
         if initial building entry was lawful.  Defines
         "dangerous instrument".

2667     RELATING TO NO CANDIDATES FILED FOR AN ELECTIVE
         OFFICE                                              JHA
         Allows for the candidate filing deadline to be
         extended if there are no candidates filed for
         office at the close of candidate filing.

2670     RELATING TO ELECTIONS                               JHA
         Allows for the voting position to either proceed
         or follow the candidate's name on the ballot,
         depending on the requirements of the voting
         system.

2747     RELATING TO AGRICULTURE                             AGR,FIN
         Allows the DOA to work with an authorized Federal
         agency to act on its behalf, to a limited extend,
         and enforce statutes and rules regulating the
         movement of restricted items into the State or
         intrastate.  (SD1)

2785     RELATING TO UNCLAIMED PROPERTY                      JHA,FIN
         Appropriates $500,000 for the satisfaction of
         claims for the return of abandoned property.

2791     MAKING AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION TO PAY THE
         SHARE OF HEALTH INSURANCE CARRIER REFUND AND RATE
         CREDIT AMOUNTS DUE TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT        FIN
         Appropriates emergency funds [$2,132,595] to pay
         the federal government its share of health
         insurance rebates and rate credits received by
         the general fund during fiscal year 1989-1999.

2849     RELATING TO REVIEW HEARINGS                         JHA
         Defines when the department begins to count the
         time that a child has been in agency care.

2850     RELATING TO KINSHIP CARE                            HSH,FIN
         Defines "kinship care."  Authorizes the
         Department to develop standards for kinship care
         apart from other foster care standards.  Requires
         criminal history record check for persons
         desiring to provide kinship care.  (SD1)

2927     RELATING TO CHAPTER 92F, UNIFORM INFORMATION
         PRACTICES ACT (MODIFIED).                           JHA
         Clarifies that agencies have 10 working days from
         the date of receipt of the request by the agency
         to respond to a request for personal records
         under section 92F-23.  (SB2927 SD1)

2939     RELATING TO THE INTEGRATED TAX INFORMATION
         MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS ACQUISITION BY THE DEPARTMENT
         OF TAXATION                                         FIN
         Allows the department to meet, in a timely
         manner, its financial obligations under the
         integrated tax information management systems
         performance-based contract.  (SD1)

2946     RELATING TO TAXATION APPEALS                        FIN
         Eliminates requirement of paying tax assessed
         prior to appealing the assessment to the district
         board of review.  (SD1)

2947     RELATING TO DISCLOSURE OF TAX INFORMATION           FIN
         Permits the disclosure of general excise/use tax
         return and tax return information to a person
         contractually obligated to pay general excise and
         use taxes assessed against another.

3045     RELATING TO THE AUDITOR                             LMG,JHA
         Authorizes the auditor to refuse disclosure of
         documents collected and developed in the course
         of the auditor's investigations under a working
         papers privilege.  Limits the scope of waiver of
         the privilege only to documents that are
         disclosed.  (SD1)

3118     RELATING TO HAWAIIAN TERMINOLOGY                    WLU,JHA
         Requires the use of Hawaiian names, terms, and
         phrases in the Kalaeloa community development
         district.

3182     RELATING TO HOLIDAYS                                JHA
         Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes to create King
