HB 1794  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE CONTINUED                      HLT, FIN
         OPERATION OF THE HAWAII COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES CONTRACTS.
         Appropriates funding for the Hawaii County EMS.
HB 1844  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT                    HLT, FIN
         OF PROTOCOLS AND THE SPECIAL TRAINING OF PARAMEDICS IN THE TREATMENT OF
         DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PATIENTS.
         Makes appropriations to  the  respective  counties to develop protocols
         and training for paramedics in treating domestic violence victims.

HB 1775  RELATING TO MOTOR CARRIERS.                                     TRN,CPC
         Specifies facts which  motor  carriers  need  to  show  to be granted a
         temporary authority to operate by the public utilities commission.
HB 1776  RELATING TO MOTOR CARRIERS.                                     TRN,CPC
         Specifies factors that the public utilities commission must consider in
         whether to grant  a  certificate  of  public convenience and necessity.
         Makes unauthorized activity ground for denying subsequent applications.
HB 1777  RELATING TO MOTOR CARRIERS.                                     TRN,CPC
         Requires the public utilities commission  to authorize no more than the
         proposed service described in  applications  for either certificates of
         public convenience and necessity  for  common  carriers and permits for
         contract carriers.
HB 1774  RELATING TO MOTOR CARRIERS.                                     TRN,CPC
         Requires common carriers by motor  vehicle  to  have a tax clearance to
         maintain their certificates of public convenience and necessity.
HB 1763  RELATING TO BICYCLES.                                           TRN,JHA
         Requires bicycle riders under 18 to wear a bicycle helmet.
HB 1760  RELATING TO HIGHWAY SAFETY.                                     TRN,JHA
         Increases fine from $20  to  $45  for  each violation of mandatory seat
         belt use, by all passenger whether seated in back or front seats.
HB 1756  RELATING TO ADMINISTRATIVE REVOCATION OF DRIVER'S               TRN,JHA
         LICENSES.
         Amends  the  law  relating  to  administrative  revocation  of driver's
         licenses to  include  revocation  of  all  motor  vehicle registrations
         issued to a driver who  has  been  convicted of a previous violation of
         driving  under  the  influence  of  intoxicating  liquor  or habitually
         driving under the influence of liquor or drugs.
HB 1757  RELATING TO HIGHWAY SAFETY.                                     TRN,JHA
         Removes trailer exemptions from  prohibitions relating to possession or
         consumption of  intoxicating  liquors  in  motor  vehicles.   Prohibits
         drivers from consuming intoxicating  liquors  even if not operating the
         vehicle at the time.
HB 1758  RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVER LICENSING.                     TRN,JHA
         Gives the department of transportation an additional year to effectuate
         Act 175, SLH  1999  (which  provides  for  a statewide driver education
         program and behind-the-wheel driver training program).
HB 1765  RELATING TO METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION.                     TRN
         Makes  housekeeping   amendments   to   conform   to   current  federal
         requirements.

HB 1764  RELATING TO THE METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION.             TRN,FIN
         Increases MPO members from 13  to  15  by adding the chairperson of the
         citizens' advisory group and a citizen member appointed by the governor
         to  represent  the  private   sector  transportation  industry  in  the
         appropriate study.
HB 1759  RELATING TO TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT.                                TRN,FIN
         Extends length of  the  three-year  photo  red  light imaging and photo
         speed imaging detector demonstration project for four more years.
HB 1768  RELATING TO REGISTRATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES.                         TRN
         Requires home address of owner on vehicle registration forms.
HB 1767  RELATING TO HIGHWAYS.                                           TRN,JHA
         Provides the state  and  counties  with  tort immunity for transporting
         stalled vehicles off highways.
