SB 2845    RELATING TO THE HAWAIIAN HOMES COMMISSION ACT,       WLH/LRE, WAM
        1920, AS AMENDED.
        Allows the chair of the Hawaiian Home Commission to extend the
        employment contracts of individuals employees beyond the current
        six-year limitation.

SB 2110    RELATING TO HAWAIIAN HOME LANDS TRUST INDIVIDUAL     WLH, WAM
        CLAIMS
        Extends the Hawaiian Home Lands Trust Individual Claims Review
        Panel until December 31, 2002.  Establishes an Individual Hawaiian
        Home Lands Trust Claims Compensation Commission to develop funding
        options to compensate successful claimants.

SB 2181    RELATING TO PUBLIC LAND TRUST                        WLH, WAM
        Appropriates $16,060,000 to OHA for income and proceeds from the
        pro rata portion of the public land trust to be credited toward

 
        the States twenty per cent revenues owed from the public land
        trust.

SB 2970    RELATING TO HAWAIIANS                                WLH, WAM
        Transfers all OHA's assets and resources to the Hawaiian Homes
        Commission.

SB 3181    RELATING TO NATIVE HAWAIIANS                         WLH, WAM
        Appropriates $2.5 million to the office of Hawaiian afffairs for
        registration of native Hawaiians.

SB 3118    RELATING TO HAWAIIAN TERMINOLOGY                     WLH
        Requires the use of Hawaiian names, terms, and phrases in the
        Kalaeloa community development district.


                         WLH/ECD JOINT HEARING


SB 2005    RELATING TO PUBLIC LANDS                             WLH/ECD, WAM
        Authorizes the department of land and natural resources to issue
        new leases to the existing Banyan Drive lessees, subject to
        certain conditions.

SB 2741    RELATING TO THE STATE WATER CODE.                    WLH/ECD, WAM
        Extends the time provided in Act 101, SLH 1998, for developing the
        state agricultural water use and development plan.

SB 2778    RELATING TO LAND USE                                 WLH/ECD, WAM
        Clarifies the purposes of state land use districts, and clarifies
        uses, including open area recreation, allowed in the state
        agricultural districts.  Allows more uses in state rural
        districts, and enables clustering in rural districts.

SB 2984    RELATING TO OCEAN LEASING FOR COMMERCIAL             WLH/ECD, WAM
        TELECOMMUNICATION USES
        Allows for commercial telecommunication uses in ocean leasing.

SB 3056    RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF LAND AND NATURAL       WLH/ECD, WAM
        RESOURCES
        Requires the department of land and natural resources to purchase
        land and study conditions at Punalu`u beach and recommend
        appropriate actions to establish a state park to preserve and
        protect the area's endangered species and ecosystem.

SB 2921    RELATING TO THE HAWAII TOURISM AUTHORITY             ECD/WLH, WAM

 
 
 
        Allows the Authority to support, through grants and project
        funding, programs of DLNR which protect, preserve, and promote
        Hawaii's natural resources.

SB 3124    RELATING TO PUBLIC LANDS                             ECD/WLH, WAM
        Transfers the Public Park along Front Street at Lahaina, Maui to
        the Department of Land and Natural Resources.


                         WLH/EDU JOINT HEARING


SB 2722    RELATING TO HAWAIIAN LANGUAGE IMMERSION PROGRAM      WLH/EDU, WAM
        Creates standards for the Hawaiian language immersion program.

SB 3157    RELATING TO THE HAWAII INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL        WLH/EDU, WAM
        CENTER
        Authorizes HCDA to lease 8 acres to the Hawaiian Chinese
        Multicultural Museum and Archives and authorizes director of
        finance to issue $20,000,000 in revenue bonds for a Hawaii
        international cultural center.

SB 3163    RELATING TO HAWAIIAN CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL        WLH/EDU, WAM
        FACILITY
        Appropriates general revenues to Hawaii Ola Waimanalo for a
        cultural and educational facility.
