HB 2078 HD1   RELATING TO SCHOOL SAFETY                       EDN, JHA
(HSCR 439-00) Requires students to be suspended for not less than __
           school days but not more than 92 school days for
           violating section 8-19-6(a)(1) or 8-19-13(a)(1) of the
           administrative rules of the department of education, or
           violating part III of chapter 707. (HB2078 HD1)

HB 2087 HD1   RELATING TO JUVENILES                           EDN, JHA
(HSCR 440-00) Allows limited accessibility to juvenile records to
           public and private school officials and persons involved
           in the treatment and supervision of minors in the areas
           of child abuse and law enforcement.  Requires
           notification from a court to appropriate public and
           private school officials when a minor has committed any
           felony or misdemeanor involving curfew, gambling,
           alcohol, drugs, tobacco products, carrying of weapons, a
           sexual offense found in part V of chapter 707, HRS,
           assault or battery, larceny, vandalism, or graffiti.

HB 1876       PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE X, SECTION 2, OF THE
(HSCR 448-00) HAWAII CONSTITUTION, TO CHANGE THE COMPOSITION OF THE
           BOARD OF EDUCATION                          EDN/PSM, JHA

 
           Proposes an amendment to article X, section 2, of the
           Constitution of the State of Hawaii to include a
           representative from the Commander in Chief, United
           States Pacific Command to serve as a nonvoting member on

HB 2762       RELATING TO ISLAND BURIAL COUNCILS              WLU, JHA
(HSCR 243-00) Clarifies the current law to make records of the
           department of land and natural resources confidential if
           deemed sensitive by an island burial council or the
           Hawaii historic places review board.

HB 2245 HD1   RELATING TO THE HAWAII TOURISM AUTHORITY    TSM/EEP, JHA
(HSCR 457-00) Partially exempts the Hawaii tourism authority from the
           environmental impact statement law. (HB2245 HD1)

HB 2999 HD1   RELATING TO THE RIGHT TO FARM                   AGR, JHA
(HSCR 196-00) Grandfathers non-nuisance farming operations that
           existed prior to the establishment of surrounding
           nonfarming operations of lands zoned other than
           agriculture.  Defines "generally accepted agricultural
           and management practices."  Provides that a farming
           operation that has been conducted in a manner consistent
           with generally accepted agricultural and management
           practices is not a nuisance.  Provides that if a court
           determines an action alleging an agricultural operation
           is a nuisance is frivolous, the court may award court
           costs, attorney fees, and other costs to the defendant.

HB 2745       RELATING TO QUARANTINE                          AGR, JHA
(HSCR 247-00) Exempts service animals from quarantine upon specified
           conditions.
