HB 2410    RELATING TO THE RELIEF OF CERTAIN PERSONS'    JDC, WAM
HD1        CLAIMS AGAINST THE STATE AND PROVIDING APPROPRIATIONS
        THEREFOR
        Appropriates funds for settlements and judgments of
        claims against the State. 

HB 2418    RELATING TO CERTIFICATES OF IDENTIFICATION    JDC, WAM
        Proposes to change the expiration date of State ID
        cards to coincide with a person's birth date, and to
        allow renewal by mail for persons 65 and older.

HB 2423    RELATING TO TOBACCO PRODUCTS REPORT           JDC, WAM
        Establishes a reporting requirement to enforce a state
        law that requires tobacco product manufacturers who
        sell tobacco products in the State to deposit certain
        amounts into escrow based on the number of cigarettes
        sold.

HB 2646    RELATING TO TRUSTS AND ESTATES                JDC, WAM
HD1        Authorizes trustees to split a trust into separate
        trusts for administration or tax purposes.
        Streamlines transfer of unclaimed assets from a
        personal representative or trustee to the State.
        Apportions expenses incurred in the determination of
        apportionment of estate taxes.  Raises threshold for
        classification as a small estate from $60,000 to
        $100,000. 

HB 2648    RELATING TO PROBATION                         JDC, WAM

 
HD2        Allows a court, upon sentencing a defendant to
        probation, deferring a guilty plea, or deferring a
        plea of nolo contendere, to order the defendant to pay
        a probation service fee of $100 for a term of more
        than one year, or $50 for a term of one year or less.
        Establishes the probation services special fund.

HB 2653    RELATING TO THE JUDICIARY                     JDC, WAM
HD2        Authorizes the waiver of filing fees when victims of
        crime seek civil enforcement of court-ordered
        restitution.

24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if
less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Judiciary Committee

to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 1-800-586-6659, at least
24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please indicate to
whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the
hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
