SB 2688    RELATING TO THE JUDICIARY                     JDC, WAM
        Amends the 1999 Judiciary appropriations bill to
        provide operating and capital improvements moneys for
        the Judiciary in the fiscal year 2000-2001.

SB 2685    RELATING TO TRUSTS AND ESTATES                JDC, WAM
        Authorizes trustees to split a trust into separate
        trusts.  Reroutes unclaimed assets to the State rather
        than to the guardian.  Apportions the expenses of the
        fiduciary with the tax among the persons interested in
        the estate.  Raises threshold for classification as a
        small estate from $60,000 to $100,000.

SB 2690    RELATING TO PROBATION                         JDC, WAM
        Requires a court, upon sentencing a defendant to
        probation, deferring a guilty plea, or deferring a
        plea of nolo contendere, to order the defendant to pay
        a probation service fee of $100 for a term of more
        than one year, or $50 for a term of one year or less.
        Establishes the probation services special fund.

SB 2691    RELATING TO THE JUDICIARY                     JDC, WAM
        Waives certain filing fees in certain civil
        enforcement proceedings for victims in relation to the
        disposition of convicted defendants.

SB 2692    RELATING TO SALARIES                          JDC, WAM

 
 
 
        Implements the judicial salary commission's
        recommendation to provide salary adjustments for
        appointed judiciary administrative officers.

24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if
less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms

islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing,
please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the
date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies
needed for submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
