        FACILITIES
        Authorizes the Department to enter into contracts with
        qualified private entities for service appropriate and
        necessary to operate and staff new in-state
        correctional facilities.

SB 2433    RELATING TO PRISONS                        JDC/LRE,WAM
        Provides that the development and management of in-
        state correctional facilities be subject to the
        managed competition process.

        Authorizes the State to enter into negotiations with a
        private developer to develop prison facilities.

SB 2271    RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HAWAIIAN     JDC/WLH,WAM
        HOME LANDS
        Authorizes the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands to
        enter into negotiations with a private developer to
        develop prison facilities.

SB 2704    RELATING TO A FEASIBILITY STUDY TO BUILD A     JDC,WAM
        PRISON AT BARBERS POINT
        Makes an appropriation for a feasibility study to
        build a prison at Barbers Point.

please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the
date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies
needed for submittal.
