SB 3123  RELATING TO POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION  HSH/LAB, EDN, FIN
  SD2  Establishes a transitional welfare-to-work benefits
      program for public assistance recipients.  Appropriates
      $_____ for FY 2000-2001 for the bridge to hope program.
      (SD2)

SB 2579  RELATING TO HOUSING                         HSH/HLT, FIN
  SD1  Creates the special needs housing special fund to be
      used to provide supportive housing for persons with
      mental illness and substance abuse addictions.
      Authorizes the issuance of general obligation bonds to
      be deposited into the special needs housing fund.  (SD1)

 


 
SB 2493  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR                 HSH/HLT, FIN
  SD2  SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT SERVICES
      Appropriates unspecified sums to Department of Health
      for substance abuse treatment services for pregnant
      women, teenagers, and families involved with child
      protective services of the department of human services,
      provided funds are matched by private and federal
      sources.  (SD2)

SB 2446  MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE PROTECTION    HSH/HLT, FIN
  SD2  OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
      Appropriates funds for programs and services for the
      protection of children and families.  (SD2)

SB 2320  RELATING TO LONG-TERM CARE COMMISSION      HSH/HLT, FIN
  SD1  Establishes the commission for long-term care,
      disability, and elderly services within the Office of
      the Lieutenant Governor; makes appropriation for 
      start-up funds.  (SD1)

SB 2490  RELATING TO LONG TERM RESIDENTIAL CARE      HSH/HLT, FIN
  SD2  Establishes an information and referral process; makes
      appropriation to the Executive Office on Aging to
      implement statewide initial information and referral
      screeening; requires use of uniform assessment tool.

SB 2717  RELATING TO SOCIAL WORKERS                   HSH/HLT,CPC
  SD1  Repeals the sunset of social worker licensing.
      Eliminates ACSW exam recognition for licensing purposes
      for applications filed after June 30, 2000.  (SD1)

SB 2850  RELATING TO KINSHIP CARE                 HSH, JHA, FIN
  SD1  Defines "kinship care."  Authorizes the Department to
      develop standards for kinship care apart from other
      foster care standards.  Requires criminal history record
      check for persons desiring to provide kinship care.
