SB 2021  RELATING TO HOUSING                         GOH,WAM
        Requires assisted housing development owners to give
        one year's notice to tenants if the owner intends to
        terminate a subsidy contract.  Gives tenants or
        nonprofit organizations opportunities to purchase the
        development if the owner of the development has not
        given notice to sell prior to July 1, 2000.  (Tam)

SB 2333  RELATING TO CONDOMINIUM PROPERTY REGIMES    GOH,CPN
        Authorizes an association of apartment owners to
        assess the purchaser of a delinquent apartment for
        unpaid assessments provided the association has
        previously filed a foreclosure action.  (Kanno)

SB 2527  RELATING TO CONDOMINIUMS                    GOH,JDC
        Clarifies that a board of directors of a condominium
        association that solicits proxies using association
        funds must comply with the 30-day notice requirement.
        Authorizes use of copy, fax or other reliable
        reproduction of proxies.  (Ihara)

SB 2578  RELATING TO RESIDENTIAL LEASE-TO-FEE CONVERSIONGOH,WAM
        Establishes a fair market value standard (FMVS) for
        appraising the leased fee interest of condo and co-op
        housing corporations for leases that do not specify an
        appraisal standard and for leases on or after
        effective date of the Act; allows FMVS if lessor and

 
        lessee agree for leases prior to date of this Act.

SB 3119  RELATING TO PLANNED COMMUNITY ASSOCIATIONS   GOH,JDC
        Prohibits actions by an entity as a planned community
        association if the entity is not an association in
        accordance with chapter 421J, HRS.  (Buen)


SB 3160  RELATING TO THE SALE OF RESIDENTIAL CONDOMINIUMGOH,WAM
        APARTMENTS TO OWNER-OCCUPANTS
        Streamlines owner-occupancy sales requirements for
        condominiums.  (Tam)

SB 564  RELATING TO HOUSING                         GOH,JDC
        Prohibits landlords from preventing persons 62 years
        old and over and disabled persons from owning an
        animal in a condominium, cooperative, and planned unit
        development with 6 or more units privately owned or
        rented if rented or purchased by a senior citizen or
        disabled person.  (Hanabusa)

SB 289   RELATING TO HOUSING                             GOH
        Short form bill.


Persons wishing to testify should submit 25 copies (single
spaced, two-hole punched) of their testimony to the committee
clerk, Room 220, State Capitol, 24 hours prior to the hearing.
Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to
the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659
(toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the
hearing.  When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is
being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the
required number of copies needed for submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
