        DECISION MAKING ON THE FOLLOWING MEASURES
              (Deferred from March 1, 2000)

SB 565        PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE V, SECTION 6,      JDC
           OF THE HAWAII CONSTITUTION, TO PROVIDE FOR THE ELECTION
           OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL
           Proposes amendment to article  V, section 6, of the
           state constitution  to  provide  that  the attorney
           general be  elected  rather  than  appointed by the
           governor.

SB 2518       PROPOSING AMENDMENTS TO THE HAWAII CONSTITUTION      JDC
           TO PROVIDE FOR THE ELECTION OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL
           Proposes amendments  to  the  state constitution to
           provide that the attorney general be elected rather
           than appointed by the governor.

SB 2628       PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE V OF THE HAWAII    JDC
           CONSTITUTION TO PROVIDE FOR THE ELECTION OF THE ATTORNEY
           GENERAL
           Proposes an amendment to the Hawaii Constitution to
           provide for an elected attorney general.

HB 164        PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE III, SECTION 6,    JDC
           OF THE HAWAII CONSTITUTION, TO CHANGE THE ELIGIBILITY
           REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE SENATE OR HOUSE OF
           REPRESENTATIVES
           Proposes an amendment to Article III, section 6, of
           the state constitution  to  require  that, prior to
           filing nomination papers  for the primary election,
           a candidate for state legislative office shall be a
           qualified voter in the  district that the candidate
           seeks to represent.

SB 614        PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE III, SECTION 6,    JDC
           OF THE HAWAII CONSTITUTION, TO CHANGE THE ELIGIBILITY TO
           SERVE AS A MEMBER OF THE SENATE OR HOUSE OF
           REPRESENTATIVES
           Proposes a  constitutional  amendment  to require a
           candidate for  the  legislature  to  be a qualified
           voter prior  to  filing  nomination  papers for the
           primary election.

SB 2941       PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE VII,          WAM, JDC
           SECTION 3, OF THE STATE CONSTITUTION TO PROVIDE FOR THE
           APPOINTMENT OF A TAX REVIEW COMMISSION EVERY TEN YEARS
           Changes the  appointment  of  a  Hawaii  tax review
           commission from every five years to every ten years
           starting in 2005.

 
SB 539        PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE X,        EDU/WAM, JDC
SD1           SECTION 6, OF THE HAWAII CONSTITUTION, TO PROVIDE THE
           UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII WITH AUTONOMY IN ALL MATTERS
           RELATED TO THE UNIVERSITY
           Constitutional amendment to give UH autonomy in all
           matters related to the university.

SB 2352       RELATING TO COMPUTER OFFENSES                   EDU, JDC
SD1           Repeals  existing  law  and   adds  the  crimes  of
           computer   fraud,   computer   trespass,   unlawful
           distribution,  unsolicited   electronic  mail,  and
           computer invasion of  privacy.   Provides for civil
           actions based on the computer crimes.  (SD1)

SB 2465       RELATING TO PORNOGRAPHY                         EDU, JDC
SD1           Amends  the   promoting   pornography   for  minors
           exemption for public library staff by narrowing the
           exemption to  persons  acting  within  the scope of
           their employment.  (SD1)

SB 2466       RELATING TO COMPUTER ACCESS BY MINORS           EDU, JDC
           Limits children's access  to on-line pornography in
           public schools and public libraries.
