     Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred S.B. No.
2152, S.D. 1, H.D. 1, entitled: 

     "A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO THE INTERSTATE COMPACT FOR
     THE SUPERVISION OF ADULT OFFENDERS,"

begs leave to report as follows:

     The purpose of this bill is to ensure meaningful and
effective control over the movement of offenders between states
by authorizing Hawaii's participation in the Interstate Compact
for the Supervision of Adult Offenders.

     The Department of the Prosecuting Attorney of the City and
County of Honolulu testified in support of this measure.  The
Judiciary testified in support of the intent of this measure.

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your
Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your
Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of S.B. No.
