                     A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO MAUI MEMORIAL HOSPITAL.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 1      SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue
 
 2 general obligation bonds in the sum of $2,900,000, or so much
 
 3 thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof
 
 4 as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2000-2001,
 
 5 for the Maui Memorial Medical Center to upgrade its facilities to
 
 6 comply with National Fire Protection Association (FFPA) and
 
 7 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations.

 9           Construction to meet FFPA and ADA
 
10             requirements

12                     Total Funding                      $2,900,000
 
13      SECTION 2.  The appropriation made for capital improvement
 
14 projects authorized in this Act shall not lapse at the end of the
 
15 fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided
 
16 that all appropriations which are unencumbered as of June 30,
 
17 2002, shall lapse as of that date.
 
18      SECTION 3.  The sum appropriated shall be expended by the
 
19 department of accounting and general services for the purposes of

 2      SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2000.
