Land Purchase Appropriation


DESCRIPTION:
Appropriates general revenues to give Ho'omau Ke Ola moneys to
purchase property known as the former Cornet Store in Makaha.
Allows property to be used to establish a community center that
will provide training, employment, and other services to

                   A  BILL  FOR  AN  ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PURCHASE PROPERTY TO ESTABLISH A
   COMMUNITY CENTER FOR THE RESIDENTS OF THE WAI'ANAE COAST.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 1      SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general
 
 2 revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $           , or so
 
 3 much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 1999-2000, to
 
 4 purchase land that may be used to establish a community center
 
 5 that will provide training, employment, and other services, to
 
 6 residents of the Wai'anae coast.
 
 7      SECTION 2.  The sum appropriated shall be expended by the
 
 8 department of Hawaiian home lands to provide a grant to Ho'omau
 
 9 Ke Ola for the purposes of this Act.
 
10      SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 1999.
