                     HOUSE  RESOLUTION

HONORING JAMIL AHMADIA, PHYLLIS NAKASUJI, CANDY SUISO, AND
   ESTELLE WONG AS RECIPIENTS OF THE 1999-2000 MILKEN FAMILY
   FOUNDATION NATIONAL EDUCATOR AWARD AND COMMENDING THEM FOR
   THEIR OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO EDUCATION IN HAWAII.



 1       WHEREAS, as the growing complexities of modern society
 2   enhances the need for the people of the world to communicate,
 3   educate, and cooperate with one another, the citizens of Hawaii
 4   recognize the efforts and accomplishments of those who have
 5   been dedicated to education; and
 6   
 7       WHEREAS, the Milken Family Foundation National Educator
 8   Award Program, sponsored by the Milken Family Foundation,
 9   publicly recognizes outstanding elementary and secondary school
10   teachers, principals, and other education professionals who are
11   committed to furthering excellence in education; and
12   
13       WHEREAS, the Milken Family Foundation has recognized JAMIL
14   AHMADIA, PHYLLIS NAKASUJI, CANDY SUISO, and ESTELLE WONG for
15   their outstanding service and dedication to the students of
16   Hawaii, and will be awarding each of them a monetary gift of
17   $25,000; now, therefore,
18   
19       BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the
20   Twentieth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session
21   of 2000, that this body hereby commends and congratulates JAMIL
22   AHMADIA, PHYLLIS NAKASUJI, CANDY SUISO, and ESTELLE WONG, the
23   recipients of the 1999-2000 Milken Family Foundation National
24   Educator Award, for their outstanding commitment and dedication
25   to the education of Hawaii students, and extends to them its
26   warmest Aloha and best wishes for continued success in all
27   future endeavors.
