                   A  BILL  FOR  AN  ACT

RELATING TO CHILD CUSTODY.
 


BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 1      SECTION 1.  Chapter 571, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended
 
 2 by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to
 
 3 read as follows:
 
 4      "§571-    Notice upon intent to relocate.  In any custody or
 
 5 visitation proceeding, the court shall include as a condition of
 
 6 any custody or visitation order a requirement that advance
 
 7 written notice be made to either the court, the other party, or
 
 8 both, by any party intending to relocate the permanent residence
 
 9 of a child.  Such notice must be given at least sixty days prior
 
10 to the intended relocation.  The court may require that such
 
11 notice be in such form and contain such information as the court
 
12 may deem proper and necessary under the circumstances of the
 
13 case."
 
14      SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.
 
15      SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
