                     A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE
   FORTY-SIXTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:


 1      SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall
 
 2 be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are
 
 3 hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of
 
 4 Hawaii for fiscal year 2000-2001.
 
 5 1.  To be expended by the department of transportation:
 
 6      A.   Create left turn lane at the intersection of Kamehameha
 
 7           Highway and Waihee Road, Oahu.
 
 8                Design                                   $   5,000
 
 9                Construction                             $  20,000
 
10                     Total Funding                       $  25,000
 
11      B.   Design and construction of new bridge over Kaalaea
 
12           Stream at Kamehameha Highway, Oahu.

20      SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective
 
21 projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the
 
22 designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
 
23      SECTION 3.  The appropriations made for capital improvement

 1 projects authorized in this Act shall not lapse at the end of the
 
 2 fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided
 
 3 that all appropriations which are unencumbered as of June 30,
 
 4 2002, shall lapse as of that date.
 
 5      SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2000.
