DESCRIPTION:
Appropriates $       to the DOH to conduct a needs assessment of
home- and community-based treatment programs for the
institutionalized mentally ill, including forensic patients, to

                   A  BILL  FOR  AN  ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CONDUCT A NEEDS ASSESSMENT OF HOME-
   AND COMMUNITY-BASED TREATMENT PROGRAMS FOR THE
   INSTITUTIONALIZED MENTALLY ILL, INCLUDING FORENSIC PATIENTS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 1      SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general
 
 2 revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $        , or so much
 
 3 thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2000-2001, to conduct
 
 4 a needs assessment of home- and community-based treatment
 
 5 programs for the institutionalized mentally ill, including
 
 6 forensic patients, to comply with current federal requirements.
 
 7      SECTION 2.  The sum appropriated shall be expended by the
 
 8 department of health for the purposes of this Act. 
 
 9      SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2000.
