                   A  BILL  FOR  AN  ACT

RELATING TO RESIDENTIAL LEASEHOLDS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 1      SECTION 1.  Section 516-1, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is
 
 2 amended by amending the definition of "lot", "houselot",
 
 3 "residential lot", and "residential houselot" to read as follows:
 
 4      ""Lot", "houselot", "residential lot", and "residential
 
 5 houselot" mean a parcel of land, [two] seven acres or less in
 
 6 size, which is used or occupied or is developed, devoted,
 
 7 intended, or permitted to be used or occupied as a principal
 
 8 place of residence for one or two families."
 
 9      SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed.
 
10 New statutory material is underscored.
 
11      SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
