                   A  BILL  FOR  AN  ACT

RELATING TO THE HAWAII TOURISM AUTHORITY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 1      SECTION 1.  Section 201B-12, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is
 
 2 amended as follows:
 
 3      1.  By amending the title to read:
 
 4      "[[]§201B-12[]]  Exemption of authority from taxation,
 
 5 environmental impact statement law, and Hawaii public procurement
 
 6 code."
 
 7      2.  By amending subsection (b) to read:
 
 8      "(b)  The authority shall not be subject to [chapter]:
 
 9      (1)  Chapter 343, including the preparation of an
 
10           environmental assessment or an environmental impact
 
11           statement, whether in draft or final form; and
 
12      (2)  Chapter 103D and any and all other requirements of law
 
13           for competitive bidding for project agreements,
 
14           construction contracts, lease and sublease agreements,
 
15           or other contracts unless a project agreement with
 
16           respect to a project otherwise shall require."
 
17      SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed.
 
18 New statutory material is underscored.
