HB 179     RELATING TO AGRICULTURAL LANDS                WLH/ECD, WAM
HD 2       Creates the State  of Hawaii important agricultural
           lands  commission  comprising  thirteen  members to
           identify and map  prime  agricultural lands, unique
           lands, and other important agricultural lands.

HB 827     RELATING TO PUBLIC LANDS                      WLH/ECD, WAM
HD3        Authorizes  the  department  of  land  and  natural
           resources  to  issue  new  leases  to  the existing
           Banyan   Drive   lessees,    subject   to   certain
           conditions.

HB 1711    RELATING KANEOHE BAY                          WLH/ECD, WAM
HD2        Requires  any  unpermitted   pier  in  Kaneohe  Bay
           existing in whatever form  on the effective date of
           this Act  to  be  considered  a  nonconforming use.
           Eliminates the requirement  that all sunbathing and
           swimming piers built on  submerged lands have signs
           placed on them indicating the public's right to use
           the   pier.        Includes   private   residential
           noncommercial piers  as  items  not requiring prior
           legislative  and  governor   approval  on  easement
           dispositions.

HB 1183    RELATING TO BEACH LANDS                       WLH/ECD, WAM

 


 
HD 2       Authorize   beach    restoration,    create   beach

HB 1296    RELATING TO KANEOHE BAY                       WLH/ECD, WAM
HD 1       Gives the Department of  Land and Natural Resources
           administrative  flexibility  when  implementing the
           Kaneohe Bay Master Plan recommendations.

HB 424     RELATING TO FOREST RESERVES                   ECD/WLH, WAM
HD 2       Establishes  the   forest   stewardship   fund  for
           reforestation   and    maintenance   of   harvested
           plantation  areas,  enhancement  of  public  forest
           reserves,   and    development   of   environmental
           education and training programs for the public.

SCR 68     ENCOURAGING THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE TO   ECD/WLH, WAM
           CLAIM ITS FAIR SHARE OF THE CEDED LAND REVENUES

        DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW, IF TIME PERMITS.

Persons wishing  to  testify  should  submit  25  copies of their
testimony to the  committee  clerk,  Room  218, State Capitol, 24
hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony  may also be faxed if less
than 5 pages in length,  to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at
586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll  free  for neighbor islands), at
least 24  hours  prior  to  the  hearing.    When  faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony  is  being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

If you require special  assistance  or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility,  or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the  committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

measures and testimonies for  the  hearing  will be available for
shared use by members of the public.
