H.D. 3   Requires reimbursement for services provided by

H.B. 1035  RELATING TO THE EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM  CPN, WAM
H.D. 1   Requires the Employees' Retirement System (ERS) Board
S.D. 1   of Trustees to appoint a chief investment officer and
        an assistant administrator.  Requires the Attorney
        General to serve as legal advisor to the Board of
        Trustees.

H.D. 2   Permits Hawaii Public Employees Health Fund Board of
        Trustees to contract for more than one type of benefit

        Authorizes special purpose revenue bonds not to exceed
        $19,600,000 to assist the gas utility in providing gas
        services and making capital improvements.

H.B. 978 RELATING TO AGRICULTURE                    ECD, WAM
        Encourages private lenders to provide financing for
        diversified ag by reducing risks through the
        department's ability to guarantee loans.  Up to 90% of
        the loan plus interest would be eligible.

H.B. 980 RELATING TO IRRIGATION WATER DEVELOPMENT   ECD, WAM
H.D. 2   Amends current law to assess only cultivatable lands
        within the irrigation district boundaries.

H.B. 983 MAKING AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR THE   ECD, WAM
        AGRIBUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
        Authorizes an emergency appropriation of $50,000 in
        revolving funds for fiscal year 1998-1999 to allow the
        Agribusiness Development Corporation (ADC) to
        reimburse the papaya industry for securing patent
        licenses needed to commercialize the transgenic papaya
        and carry out its ongoing projects.

H.D. 2   Allows private marinas and yacht clubs to take into
        custody and dispose of vessels abandoned on their
        premises.

H.D. 1   Requires budgeting for athletics when budgeting for

        other teachers.

        for the administrative costs of collecting fees for
        overdue or lost books, for use of materials requiring
        special equipment, and library sponsored seminars and
        workshops.

H.D. 1   Transfers the assets of the Hawaii Public Broadcasting
S.D. 1   Authority (HPBA) to the Hawaii Public Television
        Foundation (HPTF), a private not-for-profit
        organization.  Gives the State first rights to the
        assets of HPBA if HPTF is no longer useful, or if HPTF
        is dissolved or discontinues public broadcasting in
        Hawaii.

        Appropriates funds for the Children's Health Insurance
